Hello Friends and Family,
So sorry we have not had an update in the last couple of months. I had hoped our Christmas card somewhat counted as an update 😉 We were so blessed to go back to the Midwest for 3 weeks over Christmas and New Years. Three weeks sounds like a lot and at times it seemed that way but our time was split between 5 different places so it was a bit of a whirlwind. Thankfully, Seder was a champ by traveling and sleeping well in each new place! Our time would have been much more of a challenge if he had struggled! It was so so great to connect with so many of our dear friends and family! I got to go back a few times last year (I think maybe it wasn’t as much about me as it was about Seder) but Ethan hadn’t been back for a year. It is so important to us to be diligent, intentional, and transparent with you so that way you can know how to pray for us and what you are sowing into!
Well, the Ride Nature team is still chipping away at the shop project. I know that Ethan and the other guys can easily become discouraged and forget all of the progress they have made. It truly has taken shape in the last month. It’s just these little finishing details that seem to drag on forever. Also, we have started a “new semester” and added a few new staff and interns! It is always exciting getting new people to come on with the ministry because they bring in a fresh outlook and excitement to the team. Two of the new staff are ladies! We are so happy to have them join us and bring a different set of gifts. I am challenged to be intentional with them and get them plugged into community! I am also excited that they will be working on women’s ministry stuff full-time and I can join in with any opportunities they get going! It has been a challenge since having Seder and moving to a new place to seek out ministry opportunities. Ethan on the other hand, has been able to disciple the interns for the last months through this ongoing work project by building good relationships while teaching life skills.
Here are a few shop progress pictures!
Also, God has been so faithful to provide for us personally and for Ride Nature! We have seen the donations come in but it really is hard for us to fully grasp the incredible ways God works! We are so thankful for everyone who has given to us or the ministry! Ride Nature did a fundraising campaign a couple of weeks ago, “$10,000 in 10 days.” It seemed like a lofty goal but as the days went by, we kept praying and trusting and the funds kept coming in! God blew our socks off and Ride Nature went $300 over their goal!!
“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” Proverbs 19:21
Our prayer for us personally and Ride Nature is that we don’t keep moving forward in our own plans and ambition but that it is aligned with the Lord’s plans. Thankfully, the Lord continues to confirm our path by answered prayer!
- Ethan and I are prayerfully trying to decide what we should do for housing, as our lease is finished in April.
- We are in need of more ladies to fill the RN ladies house! Hoping for ladies who want to work with the ministry and grow together in our walk with Christ.
- Prayers for all the permits and any final surprises we have to obtain to open The House of Ride Nature.
- There are of course several trips in the works: Germany in March, Panama in June, RN ladies trip (location and date TBD). We (Ethan, Seder and I) plan to go to Panama in June. Prayers are always for God’s chosen team to be assembled and sent out on each trip!
The start of a new year is a time most of us think about making goals. Ethan was challenged by my Dad to have a repertoire of verses that he has meditated on and in turn have become so embedded in his heart that they are a part of him. This year, that challenge is something we both are praying about and asking the Lord to bring verses to our attention. Maybe you already have some “life verses.” If so, that’s awesome; but maybe you can be more intentional about meditating on those truths or adding more to your artillery!
Thank you as always for your attention and prayers! No matter our circumstances because of Jesus we, you and me, are SO blessed! In light of that, let this be our response:
“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul will make its boast in the Lord.” Psalm 34:1-2a
